We're Josha Sietsma and Machteld Zee—two Dutch professionals united by our legal background and over a decade of collaborative partnership. We first met at a conference in the Cotswolds, when Josha was teaching history and Machteld was working with a London-based think tank.
Since then, Machteld has evolved into a researcher for a major organization and multidisciplinary artist. Josha has become a serial entrepreneur with proven success building ventures across multiple sectors. Together, we've cultivated extensive networks spanning business, culture, education, and the arts—connecting the Netherlands and Japan.
In 2025, we launched Kibatsu & Co. to unite our experience, curiosity, and profound belief in the power of creative connection. We combine sharp analytical thinking with creative vision, speed with depth, and a passion for unexpected possibilities. Our work bridges business and culture, East and West—through curated experiences, strategic sourcing, and original collaborations.
